LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme - 2025

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to Economically Weaker Sections, so as to provide them with better opportunities for higher education and employment.

Scholarship Details

The scholarship is to be awarded for students studying in India in a Government or Private college/university. It shall also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and also Integrated Courses after XII Std. Scholarships shall be of two types; General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girls.

General Scholarship

 

• Passed Class XII (regular/vocational) or Diploma with ≥ 60% in the years 2022-23, 2023-24, or 2024-25.
• Admission in 2025-26 to first-year of:
 — Medical (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS), Engineering (BE, BTech, BArch)
 — Graduation in any discipline
 — Integrated courses
 — Diploma courses
 — Vocational courses/ITI etc.

• Parents/guardian income ≤ ₹4,50,000/year.

 

 

After Class X

 

• Passed Class X with ≥ 60% in 2022-23/2023-24/2024-25.
• Admitted in 2025-26 in first year of vocational/diploma/ITI courses.
• Same income ceiling.

 



Special Scholarship for Girl Child

 

• Female candidates who have passed Class X with ≥ 60% in the specified years.
• Admitted in 2025-26 to first year of 10+2 / Intermediate / Vocational / Diploma / ITI courses (2-year duration).
• Same income ceiling.

Selection Process

Selection & Conditions

̶̶   Must meet minimum marks (60%) in qualifying exam.

̶̶   Income limit ≤ ₹4,50,000/year. Preference given to income band ₹0 - ₹2,50,000 if sufficient applicants.

 ̶̶   Shortlisting & selection based on merit. In cases of tie: lower income, then financial assessment and family background taken into account.

 ̶̶   Only one student per family is normally eligible. Some relaxation if applying later or female.

̶̶   Must maintain required academic performance (marks / grades): e.g. for engineering/medical streams, ≥ 55% & passing all subjects; for graduation & other courses ≥ 50%.

̶̶   Courses by correspondence / part-time / open universities not allowed. Professional courses like CA, CS etc are not eligible.

Application Process

  • Mode: Fully online via LIC website.

  • You’ll be assigned to one of LIC’s 112 Divisional Offices based on your PIN code.
  • You must submit correct bank details (account, IFSC, cancelled cheque) for fund transfer via NEFT.

  • Last date for online application: 22 September 2025 extended till 06 October 2025.

Q1. What is the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2025?
Ans: It is a scholarship scheme by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections for pursuing higher studies.


Q2. Who can apply for this scholarship?
Ans: Students who have passed Class 10 or 12 (or Diploma) with at least 60% marks in 2022-23, 2023-24, or 2024-25 and taken admission in 2025-26 in Medical, Engineering, Graduation, Diploma, Vocational, ITI or equivalent courses.


Q3. Is there any income limit?
Ans: Yes. The annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed ₹4,50,000.


Q4. Is there a special scholarship for girls?
Ans: Yes. A special scholarship is available for girl students who passed Class 10 with ≥ 60% marks and are admitted to +2, vocational, diploma, or ITI courses in 2025-26.


Q5. How much amount is given under this scholarship?
Ans:

·         Medical (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS): ₹40,000/year

·         Engineering (BE, B.Tech, B.Arch): ₹30,000/year

·         Graduation, Diploma, Vocational, ITI: ₹20,000/year

·         Special Girl Child Scholarship: ₹15,000/year (for 2 years)


Q6. How long is the scholarship provided?
Ans: For the full duration of the course (excluding internship or stipendiary period). For Special Girl Child Scholarship, it is for 2 years only.


Q7. How are students selected?
Ans: Selection is merit-based (marks in last exam) with preference to students from lower-income families. One student per family is normally eligible.


Q8. Can distance/part-time courses apply?
Ans: No. Only regular full-time courses are eligible. Correspondence, Open University, or professional courses like CA/CS are not covered.


Q9. How many scholarships are awarded?
Ans: Each of LIC’s 112 Divisional Offices will select 100 students:

·         80 under General Scholarship (40 boys, 40 girls)

·         20 under Special Scholarship for Girl Child


Q10. How to apply for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2025?
Ans: Applications must be submitted online through the official LIC website licindia.in. Students are allotted to a divisional office based on their PIN code.
